Seal
Island Gun Club success for RNLI

As part of Selsey RNLI Lifeboat Week the Seal Island Gun Club resurrected
its Clay Shoot after a break of 5 years. The club had previous run
this very successful event for 10 years. This years event proved
to be very popular and raised £1003 for Selsey Lifeboats.
Mike Pitts,
Chairman of the club, said ‘The Gun club was started 34
years ago and one of its founder members was local business man
Bruce Jenkins. It was through Bruce’s work with the RNLI,
he is the Head Launcher at the Selsey Station, that the club began
supporting the Selsey Lifeboats. It has been a great pleasure
to once again run this event in support of Selsey Lifeboats but
it could not happen without the support of local business namely
Mr Heaton of Ham Farm for his assistance and Bunn Leisure for
the use for their Archery Field. Also thanks go to the Selsey
RNLI station for all their help especially Sue and Tracey.
If anyone
is interested in joining the gun club or finding more about this
sport they can contact me on 01243 604721 or Ray Cuthbert on 0783
627 4580.’
